Meet the award-winning team at Grooming Gorgeous in Sunbury-on-Thames. Advanced-trained, Pet Industry Federation groomers who treat every pet as their own.

Most full grooms at our Sunbury-on-Thames salon take between two and three hours, depending on your pet's size, breed and the condition of their coat. A small, well-maintained cockapoo is quicker than a heavily matted doodle or a large double-coated breed. We deliberately keep the salon calm and limit how many pets are in at once, so we never rush a groom to fit the clock. If you are dropping off, we will give you a realistic collection time, and we will always call if your dog or cat needs a little longer to stay relaxed and comfortable.
We only use natural, cruelty-free products that are kind to skin and coat. Our core ranges are Wildwash and Precious Pets, both made with naturally derived ingredients and pure essential oils, and free from sulphates and parabens. Because coat health is at the heart of what we do, we match the shampoo and conditioner to your pet's specific coat type and any skin sensitivities, whether that is a soothing wash for itchy skin or a deep-conditioning treatment for a dry, woolly coat. If your dog or cat has allergies or a condition your vet is managing, let us know and we will tailor the products accordingly.
As a guide, most dogs benefit from a full groom every four to eight weeks, with a bath and brush in between. Curly and woolly coats, like cockapoos, cavapoos and other doodles, are prone to matting and usually need professional grooming every four to six weeks, plus regular brushing at home several times a week. Smooth and short-haired breeds can often go a little longer. When you visit us in Sunbury, we will assess your dog's coat and recommend a schedule that keeps it healthy and comfortable, and we are always happy to show you the right brushing technique to use between appointments.
Yes, and getting puppies off to the right start is one of the most important things we do. Our puppy first grooms are a gentle, four-session introduction that gradually familiarises your puppy with the sights, sounds and sensations of the salon, from the bath and dryer to the clippers and being handled, without ever overwhelming them. Early, positive experiences make a huge difference to how relaxed your dog will be about grooming for the rest of their life. We usually recommend booking the first session once their vaccinations are complete. Pop in or call us in Sunbury and we will talk you through it.
We are based on Thames Street in the heart of Sunbury-on-Thames and welcome dogs and cats from right across the local area and the wider Spelthorne and Surrey region. As well as Lower Sunbury and Sunbury Cross, we regularly groom pets from Shepperton, Halliford, Charlton, Walton-on-Thames, Hampton, Ashford, Feltham, Littleton, Laleham, Staines and Weybridge. If you are nearby and not sure whether it is worth the trip, just get in touch. Plenty of our regulars travel from a little further afield for our coat-health approach and specialist services like cat grooming and ultrasonic teeth cleaning.
Yes. Cat grooming is a real specialism of ours, and we are one of the few salons in the Sunbury-on-Thames area to offer it. We groom both short and long-haired cats, including Ragdolls, Persians and Maine Coons, with de-shedding treatments, careful mat removal, lion trims, hygiene trims and claw trims. Cats need a gentle, patient, low-stress approach, so we keep things calm and quiet and take our time. If your cat's coat has become matted, please do not try to cut it out at home, as it is very easy to nick the skin. Bring them to us and we will remove it safely.
Ultrasonic teeth cleaning is a gentle, completely natural way to clean your pet's teeth with no scraping, no brushing and no anaesthetic. We use the Emmi-Pet system, which sends millions of ultrasonic waves a minute through a special toothpaste, creating tiny micro-bubbles that lift plaque and bacteria from the teeth and below the gum line. There is no noise, no vibration and no scrubbing, which makes it ideal even for nervous pets. It can help freshen breath, reduce tartar build-up and support healthy gums, and may help you avoid costly anaesthetic dental procedures at the vet. You can add it to any groom or book it as a standalone treatment at our Sunbury salon.
Absolutely, and it is something we genuinely pride ourselves on. The whole salon is set up to be calm by design: we limit the number of pets in at any one time, keep noise to a minimum, and never rush. For nervous dogs, anxious rescues, elderly pets and puppies, we go at their pace and build trust gradually, sometimes over a few shorter visits. Our team is City and Guilds advanced-trained and made up of Pet Industry Federation members, so welfare always comes first. If your pet has specific anxieties or medical needs, tell us when you book and we will plan the whole visit around them.
Booking is easy. Call us on 01932 988463, email info@groominggorgeous.com, or send an enquiry through our contact page and we will get back to you to arrange a time. We are at 14a Thames Street, Sunbury-on-Thames, TW16 5QP, open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm (closed Sunday and Monday).
As an award-winning salon we do get booked up, especially around weekends and school holidays, so we recommend getting in touch a couple of weeks ahead for full grooms.
Because every coat is different, grooming is priced by your pet's breed, size and coat condition rather than a one-size-fits-all rate, so a small wash and tidy and a full doodle groom will not cost the same. Contact us with your pet's details and we will always be happy to give you a clear quote before we start, with no surprises. If your dog's coat is badly matted and needs extra time or a clip-off for their comfort, we will always explain why and talk it through with you first.
