Most full grooms at our Sunbury-on-Thames salon take between two and three hours, depending on your pet's size, breed and the condition of their coat. A small, well-maintained cockapoo is quicker than a heavily matted doodle or a large double-coated breed. We deliberately keep the salon calm and limit how many pets are in at once, so we never rush a groom to fit the clock. If you are dropping off, we will give you a realistic collection time, and we will always call if your dog or cat needs a little longer to stay relaxed and comfortable.
As a guide, most dogs benefit from a full groom every four to eight weeks, with a bath and brush in between. Curly and woolly coats, like cockapoos, cavapoos and other doodles, are prone to matting and usually need professional grooming every four to six weeks, plus regular brushing at home several times a week. Smooth and short-haired breeds can often go a little longer. When you visit us in Sunbury, we will assess your dog's coat and recommend a schedule that keeps it healthy and comfortable, and we are always happy to show you the right brushing technique to use between appointments.
We are based on Thames Street in the heart of Sunbury-on-Thames and welcome dogs and cats from right across the local area and the wider Spelthorne and Surrey region. As well as Lower Sunbury and Sunbury Cross, we regularly groom pets from Shepperton, Halliford, Charlton, Walton-on-Thames, Hampton, Ashford, Feltham, Littleton, Laleham, Staines and Weybridge. If you are nearby and not sure whether it is worth the trip, just get in touch. Plenty of our regulars travel from a little further afield for our coat-health approach and specialist services like cat grooming and ultrasonic teeth cleaning.
Yes. Cat grooming is a real specialism of ours, and we are one of the few salons in the Sunbury-on-Thames area to offer it. We groom both short and long-haired cats, including Ragdolls, Persians and Maine Coons, with de-shedding treatments, careful mat removal, lion trims, hygiene trims and claw trims. Cats need a gentle, patient, low-stress approach, so we keep things calm and quiet and take our time. If your cat's coat has become matted, please do not try to cut it out at home, as it is very easy to nick the skin. Bring them to us and we will remove it safely.
Ultrasonic teeth cleaning is a gentle, completely natural way to clean your pet's teeth with no scraping, no brushing and no anaesthetic. We use the Emmi-Pet system, which sends millions of ultrasonic waves a minute through a special toothpaste, creating tiny micro-bubbles that lift plaque and bacteria from the teeth and below the gum line. There is no noise, no vibration and no scrubbing, which makes it ideal even for nervous pets. It can help freshen breath, reduce tartar build-up and support healthy gums, and may help you avoid costly anaesthetic dental procedures at the vet. You can add it to any groom or book it as a standalone treatment at our Sunbury salon.
Absolutely, and it is something we genuinely pride ourselves on. The whole salon is set up to be calm by design: we limit the number of pets in at any one time, keep noise to a minimum, and never rush. For nervous dogs, anxious rescues, elderly pets and puppies, we go at their pace and build trust gradually, sometimes over a few shorter visits. Our team is City and Guilds advanced-trained and made up of Pet Industry Federation members, so welfare always comes first. If your pet has specific anxieties or medical needs, tell us when you book and we will plan the whole visit around them.
